Nice build, got any more pics of your trigger wheel and how it mounts? What plug wires did you use?

I'm interested to see what kind of power you make with low boost and the 10:1 c/r. I'm planning on running my 2jzge at around 12psi with stock c/r and E85.

thanks,

I used the edis plug wires that came with the coil. They work just fine.

i will post some more pics later.

For now I dropped in the stock clutch. It should hold 8psi.

Which clutch upgrade do you recommend? The upgraded clutch must feel like stock, not damage the flywheel and be reasonably priced.

I don't intend to go over 400 ft trq, not practical on Jamaican roads anyway. Before I go there though I will have to change the HG to 2mm and install water injection and run 14psi-16psi maybe.

You can use a 6puck and stock pressure plate. Although your stock cluck should hold what you want to attain.

how's it running?

I don't know in terms of power because I won't have time to take it to the dyno until maybe mid-January, however it drives like normal, revs responsive and starts every time.

I think the best advice I can give to novices like myself that are planning on using megasquirt is to install Ford EDIS. The the fabrication is more time consuming initially, but the probability of getting it right the first time is greater. Many toyota people play around with line conditioners to try and get the signal right for the megasquirt and end up with EDIS eventually after getting frustrated with signal glitches.

megasquirt 1 kit $136.00

EDIS 6 kit $70.00 (All necessary wiring and connectors, EDIS 6 Coilpack, plug wires, EDIS igniter, VR sensor and trigger wheel)
PS. the 7MGTE coilpack and plug wires could have been used instead with the EDIS igniter.

loom with 12' of wiring from DIYAutotune $65.00

time to solder MS and build wire loom including soldering all connections ~14hrs.

time to fabricate EDIS sensor bracket and mount EDIS trigger wheel ~4-6 hrs. I am not a machinist or even a mechanic, just an 'average joe', persons with more skills can cut time down by half.

had a quick question, I kinda new to messing with ecus, now is a megasqurit system basically a cheap version of a standalone ecu? And it only controls fuel flow too unless its upgraded to tune timing right?

Yes, Megasquirt is a cheap standalone... but it works.

The Version I processor and Version 2.2 board requires some slight modifications to control timing and the ' Extra' firmware. This is what I am running.

The Version II processor controls timing without any modifications to the Version 3 board with ignition systems such as EDIS.

how is the driveability working out?

Driveability is fine:ides smooth at 800rpm, revs very responisively to 6800rpm limit, starts easily every time and cruises at 15:1 AFR (user adjustable).

I have not been to the dyno yet though. I will probably have time later this month.
