The current status of the project:

I assembled my megasquirt 1 vrs 2.2 board a few months ago.
reflashed it with the MSExtra 029v code to control timing and made all the necessary modifications for it to run EDIS.

The car started pretty easily for the first time on Thursday, more pics to come...

The power steering pump sounds a bit coarse though, may have to get it overhauled.

I am not able to do much tuning, right now, the downpipe is too short to do much revving, I have to take it to the muffler shop first.

I did not use any of the 2jz sensors

36-1 wheel on the crank pulley triggers Ford EDIS Ignition
megasquirt built-in 22.5psi map sensor
GM Intake air temp
GM Coolant temp sensor

The 2jz oil switch triggers my check engine light on my dash

I live in Jamaica, I got the engine from a local supplier.

looks like it'll be fun. Stock clutch though?

For now I dropped in the stock clutch. It should hold 8psi.

Which clutch upgrade do you recommend? The upgraded clutch must feel like stock, not damage the flywheel and be reasonably priced.

I don't intend to go over 400 ft trq, not practical on Jamaican roads anyway. Before I go there though I will have to change the HG to 2mm and install water injection and run 14psi-16psi maybe.

Hey if you wouldnt mind could I get a copy of of your msq file? I have been having a "dandy" time with my megasquirt trying to run the cops from a 2jzgte but I wouldn't mind going edis now that I have a 36-1 wheel.

lots of folks have had problems with spark blow-out on toyota JZ forced induction engines with the EDIS setup. I recommend you stick with coil on plug if possible.

Based on my moderate goal, I am sure I won't experience spark blow out with EDIS. I don't plan on running more than 14psi.

If EDIS can't handle the load by itself I have a MSD DIS-4 lying around that I will install.

My engine came with distributor by the way, I didn't get the newer one that came COP.

Thanks for your concern though, I will let you know of any issues later in December when I go to the dyno.

Sure. I will send you the .msq in the morning. Remember though that I am running MS1, board vrs 2.2 with 029v code.
