2jz mounts 89+ mkiii

i was looking at the aristo motor mounts and they look just like the 1jz mounts...and im thinking they might be useable.. anyone to confirm it before i just try to drop in the engine hehe here is a pic

I can't confirm, but they sure as hell look like they would be right. Take note of the bottom post to make sure it will line up to the hole on the subframe where it sits on. I know for a fact the soarer motormounts will work if you grind down the post. Sorry if I wasn't that much help.

i'll try them once i pull my engine out... whenever that is ... heh

i was checking out yout build thread and the mounts do look just alike

yea i think they might mork but i think it makes the motor sit too far back or forward or too high or something. i remember a thread or a post about them. just try it out unless you get a definite answer first

im thinking it might possibly be too high but i have no basis for the assumption :biglaugh:

the rubber mounts or the metal mounts.. the rubber does look the same.. they'll probably work.. the metal mounts wont

i knew it wouldn't work but why? whats different? would it sit the engine too far forward, backward, or high? i have the pre89 BIC mounts in mine, and they are good quality.

The Aristo brackets are quite different and wont work. They place the engine in the wrong place and they also stick out too far from the block. The rubber mount itself will work but not the brackets. BIC makes the pre 89 swap brackets and 89+ jza70 style brackets.

BTW you will also need a rear sump pan to fit in the mk3 too
