Alright guys i just got a my r154 swap done onto my 2jz-ge. Right now im having the problem with the car that its not idling right and right after it cranks it just dies. Sometimes it might stay on but it will jump on idle from 500 to 800-1000 rpm. The problem from what it looks like to me that its not getting vacuum since theres alot of lines disconnected but i can't figure out what goes where since i've checked the 2JZ and also the EGR has been removed so im not sure exactly if its vacuum its missing or not.

it might help to try to find a vacuum diagram for a GE motor, maybe try to find a IS300 somwhere an look under the hood. that can looking thing, i took off, but it was on a GTE motor, i think it was for the turbos somehow, but you don't have those so i don't know.

I've been checking the TSRM online for those parts that i have with me but i haven't found nothing yet.

http://www.turbosupras.com/pages/en/pages/technical/a80tsrm.htm

just that the 2JZ i have like a lot of metal lines that are for vacuums that are not connected and im not sure what they are for and which ones i need to cap off since my EGR has been deleted and its just im not 100% of what to do right now.

i will try to find the vacuum diagram for the 2JZ

Yea man it is frustating and it just makes me want to throw in the towel but im so close man and i won't. Also i have a 2JZ-GE motor not a GTE, so i don't think that vac lines diagram will work. I just did a R154 swap onto the GE 2J motor.

Yea i got pictures of where the EGR was before but i bought the Block off plates but my engine bay has all these metal lines that are vacuum lines but im not sure where they go. I know the throttle body has three on top of it but all my vac lines look all messed up. (trying to find some pictures of the EGR i had of it on) but if u look on these pictures, you can see the thing i have posted in my pictures is in the motor before but now im not sure how everything runs now, espectially since the EGR has been deleted.

I Also have a write-up on how to remove the EGR but it doesn't tell me anything about the vacuum lines that need to be capped or if that thing i took pictures of is part of the EGR

well im not sure if it is but the guy that did my transmission swap told me that the plugs (red & blue) were NOT connected to anything, so he just took it off.
:dunno: maybe it could have been important

he also told me that tank thing was under the intake manifold.

its hard to find information on it ive been wondering for a while i just havent had a chance to look into it~ now that a 2jzge has it i am stumped. to my understanding it was for the secondary turbo.

Ok Guys, i was looking through the TSRM and on the third page i found something that i think looks like the cansiter looking thing i took apart.

http://www.turbosupras.com/pdfs/JZA80 TSRM/IG (2JZ-GE).pdf

take a look on page 10 on the diagram and tell me what you think. also could this be whats messing up my vacuum lines and stuff? the thing is the guy who took this out told me it wasn't connected though, so if it wasn't connected it shouldn't have made a difference right?

Dude, in that pic you don't have the AFM in front of the TB... please tell me you wern't trying to start the motor without it.. LOL.

Thats how it knows how much air is entering the engine and where to compensate.

about the vac lines.. you should be fine as long as you capped them at their source.. besides. It all looks pretty good other than the missing AFM.

EDIT: Looks like that may not be the pic you took when trying to start it now that I see that the clip isn't on the distributor. But if that AFM isn't on there, then put that bad boy on, make sure the clips on it ;), and play with the distributor until you get it to run right.

Yea scott :p, i didn't have a camera with me to show pictures of my actual motor now, so i had to use old pictures. I do have the AFM on and everything.
The clips on the distributor are on all tight, we checked everything and we are pretty much stumped on what could be shutting it off but i'll try capping everything off and maybe that will work.

The only lines you really need are the one off the front of the manifold, that goes to the FPR, and if you want to keep ACIS you will need to have the line from the VSV that controls that hooked up.

All the other lines are emissions related so just double check you have them all capped off. Check the egr blockoff plates, make sure they have a gasket and are not leaking.

Sounds like you are getting alot of unmetered air in from somewhere. Check for leaks everywhere......

That's exactly what I was going to say! lol

At least you REMOVED them, and didn't just end up with extras at the end.
