2JZ-GTE Bearing clearances too loose?

Hey all

Just plastigage'd my mains and they were all almost exactly the same - 0.025"

I am using 0.25 O/S bearings.

Is this a bit too loose?

I'm planning to make around 450-500hp

those are looser than desired, look for a .015-.019 for both rods and mains. Your may have to either have the block line bored and resize the rods or have the bearings coated to take up that clearance.

im sure its just a typo but if your bearing clearances are 25 thousandths you are gonna have serious issues and must have the wrong bearing shells lol. im hoping you meant 2 1/2 thousandths as in .0025" which is on the looser side but could be made up with coating the bearing and possibly running a thicker weight of oil.
