3in exhaust??

not possible.. it will interfere with the draave shaaft

:3d_frown:

I took my MKIII turbo to a muffler shop to see if they could make a 3 inch cat back to a muffler I had, and they said "Nope, can't do it, it'll interfere with the draave shaaft." <-- denoted thick southern accent.... This was like, six years ago, and nothing's changed...

I'm hiding behind the engine ;) and my friend Ray's face is exploding with light.

As you can all see, it really is going into a MK2. There is SO much more room to work with compared to a MK3.

We got the engine in the car, finally. The manifold needs to have the wastegate flange cut and rewelded or moved to a V-band flange and w/g, as it touches the steering rack. We've got a lot left, but we will knock out a LOT this weekend.

No one around here can weld SUS321. Oh darn what a suprise. I have to send this manifold off to get it rewelded, then see if it fits, or just buy another manifold.

I'm so tired of this, lol.

oh yeah, EE1.3, we found a tap ;)

My speedo will always read "0". I'm so friggin tired, it's like, 3AM dude.

We custom rigged the 85 P-type fuel tank with a Walbro. Installing that tomorrow, and setting up the fuel system.

I'm still recruiting some help. Hopefully I will get some from the Anniston area.......:biglaugh:

I got my head back today Jeff. It's got a three angle valve job. Ported and polished as much as the gasket will allow. It looks great. Cost me a total of two hundred dollars since he did all of the porting and polishing. I can't wait to put it on. Should I use a copper spray with the metal hg? Oh yeah, forgot to mention that he resurfaced the bottom of the head so it would be perfect. He barely took any off of the head, so it shouldn't change anything.

I'll talk to you later, and we need an update on this project here...............lol

The motor mounts I am using fit the motor towards the front of the car slightly, which puts the R-154 shifter in the stock location, meaning NO cutting or banging inside the car to use it. In the pic, the radiator isn't secured. There's plenty of room for it, but not the clutch fan, which I'm happily doing away with anyway.

I need to get the yoke replaced on the one piece steel driveshaft, I ordered it and didn't specify through writing, only verbally, so I got the silly W58 yoke

Mods to date:
1JZ-GTE block
2JZ-GE head
eGay turbo manifold w/50mm wastegate
TE06-24V turbo
Cartech Intercooler (MA70)
550cc's/Walbro
R-154 w/ACT pp + Feramic 6 puck sprung
One piece steel driveshaft (JAWSGEAR FTW)
True Track Diff. 4.10 gearing, new (JAWSGEAR FTMFW)
Megasquirt II, EDIS-6 ignition pickup/setup (36-1) with 7M-GTE coil packs, EDIS-8 ignition wires.
Buddy Club 17x9 P1 Racing rims, 275/40/17 Kumho MX tires in the rear baby!
And I got a CD player as a gift that's going in this car. This a mod? To me it is!

Then install the fuel tank with the walbro in it.

Also, I dropped off the manifold to have the wastegate flange rewelded, and I still haven't heard back from that guy.

I think most people thought I was BS'in around when I talked about this project, I got little support for it actually until now. I get that feeling over on celicasupras.com. Anyway. I tried offering the motor mount dimentions to someone who could fab them up/copy them, but they didn't really seem like they wanted them, and I wasn't going to wait around for someone to copy it and sit on it for weeks/months.

It's not that much more on it until I'm done, but we've been working on the 87 Supra with the 1.5JZ, because it's equally as badass, and it has A/C lol. Wiring on that car begins today.

 this is beautiful, i was thinking of doin the same thing but i was hesistant because i heard lot of people saying that there won't be any torque and not enough power at all. I am very curious to how this will turn out because i just maybe in the process of doing it myself. Great job.

There's three options I'm considering.

1. Have a 36-1 trigger wheel made and replace the stock 1JZ 12 point trigger on the crank, use the stock sensor.

2. Have a 36-1 trigger wheel cut into the crank pulley.

3. Have a 36-1 trigger wheel welded onto the crank pulley............

..................For all you 1JZ/2JZ owners who want to upgrade to the Fluidampr crank pulley, and want to use a trigger wheel on the crank (2JZ-GE's can use this instead of the distributor), this may be an option for you.

I want to see how this pans out. I was going to go the 7m cps, dual wheel code, and use my v2.2 w/*error daughter board. But I'm willing to scrap that for the 36-1.

Good luck; maybe I'll see you at the meet in Truss-Vegas

Truss-Vegas lol.

Yeah, this car won't be there this year, but the 87 Supra will be. It will have the 36-1 wheel on it.

I'm using a Fluidamper 2JZ pulley, with a one of a kind custom aluminum bracket to hold the 36-1 wheel in place. It will be 360 degrees of adjustability for maximum VR sensor mounting options. It will be made to support a standard Ford 36-1 wheel, or I can have it made to hold ANY size trigger wheel you chose (Or have custom trigger wheels made). PM for further information, pics coming later this week when I get it back from the machinist.

With the Megasquirt, the easiest method is the 36-1, EDIS-6 ignition module, VR sensor, and 3 coils, IMO.
