Some of my parts from Champion Toyota came today, but I wasn't here to sign for them. Hopefully my neighbor will see them tomorrow and sign for me. Now bring on the pics...............:ttiwwp:

Here you can see where you need to cut. You need to cut BOTH SIDES if you want success!!!!!!

Yeah, the pic was before I changed the tensioners. Swapped them, now it's perfect.

The cams arrived, and so did my buddy club wheels, but that's another thread.

So this pretty much is it. We'll see how it runs. I need to install a radiator, probably one for some V8 with the inlet to match the 2J-GE water return.

Now that everything will fit, we can clean the motor up really nice too, lol!

LOL ^^

After that post about the head's being different for cooling, I took some pictures of the headgaskets, and you can see where the coolant holes start/end, and what gasket has mission holes, larger ones, etc.....
Oh yeah, 1JZ is underneath the 2JZ-GE gasket

The 1JZ headgasket actually has less cooling holes made for it than the 2J-GE head does. However, some of the holes on the 1JZ gasket are slightly larger than the 2J-GE stock, but the point is, they line up and should work.

It's mostly going from rear to front anyway, and will flow through the head.

I am not worried about it working, I am more worried about the cold weather coming, and waiting on parts, which seems to be a trend with both projects...

I sent the flywheel to the shop, so tomorrow we'll have the transmission on, and it's ready to go on the car. Then we have to find a radiator, cooling fans, wire up the Stinger, install the tru-track......

I just looked at my clean lower oil pan. It's got a crack in it, and rendered worthless! Big props to Aaron for the new one, thanks.

I would also like to take time to thank my good friend Ray and Celeste for their hard work going into these projects. If not for them, I'd be doing it all alone and it would take FOREVER for me to do this. Thanks guys.

Jeff....It has been great working on this with you...I can't wait to see that thing on the road. We have put in some hours on it this week. I'm sure that there are going to be many more...
Thanks for letting me in on this, it's been a blast!

It's just that I've spent a butt load thus far Matt, this better work, or it's going to suck so much............

If I don't run a 11 second quarter mile on my first pass, I'm going to set the car on fire.

to bad that wasn't a gte head,so you can use the 1j coil on plug and cam sensor's.
nice to see someone try this, most i've heard about this is hear-say.i've never heard anybody in the state try this.
does the 2j-ge head port's look bigger than the 1j?maybe a big set of cam's will help it breath and turn some big rpm's

One sidenote, you can use a stock 7m CPS as your 24 tooth trigger wheel!

:ugh2:

Yeah yeah, still not on the car................... I love trial and error!

Regarding this engine, it's the first of it's kind, ever.

Maybe I should post what needs to be modified on the 7M CPS.... Because it requires significant cutting too.

Old pics lol. Using custom 7M CPS with Hall sensor attached for EK6.

Almost. We still need to midify the water return from the exhaust side of the head back into the waterpump. We used 8mm EDIS-8 Ford ignition wires, because they are long enough! I'd rather use some other type of coils, but 7M coils seem to be best for this.
