Hi!!

I wonder what the difference is between 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE flywheel, I have a MK3 with 2jz-ge that was a auto. So i wonder if i can go with an TT flywheel or i must have the N/A flywheel to go with my R154 gearbox :1zhelp:

the jz series engines can all use the same flywheel.(1jz, 2jz, 2jz-ge)

the only factor is which transmission you are using, so if you want to use an r154 trans you will need a 1jz flywheel and a r154 clutch(same as a 7mgte clutch)

the tt flywheel wont work because you would have to use the v160 TT 6 speed gearbox and a clutch for that trans.

the n/a flywheel is used for the w58 transmission/clutch

so if youre using an r154 you need a 1jz flywheel

Hi!

Ok! some say that i can use either 1jz-gte ore the 2jz-ge, because they are not (dubble-mass ???) flywheels as the 2jz-gte.

I talk too (Toyota ) about these flywheels , they gave me the OEM part number fore 2jz-ge manual 5 speed (13405-46040) 250$

can anyone check it out, and see if its possible to use or not

If you use the 2JZ-GE manual 5-speed flywheel, you'll have to use the W58 transmission.

If you want to use the R154 on a 2JZ, you need the 1JZ-GTE flywheel and clutch assembly (clutch is the same as the 7M-GTE).

You cannot use a 2JZ-GE flywheel with an R154.

Well it can be used if the it's re-drilled and tapped to the whatever pressure plate is going to be used on it. BUT it's not recommended and can shatter if not balanced and evenly drilled/tapped. It's just a big no no :3d_frown:

from what i heard, you can re drill the r154 pressure plate bolt pattern into a 2jzge flywheel. i pm'd someone about it and he said his worked just fine. i dont remember what forum this was on. but i think he said it's been holding 500+ hp for 2 years. i was going to do this, but it was cheaper for me to use the 1jz flywheel.

The 1JZ R154 flywheel is exactly the same as a 7M R154 flywheel, just with the JZ bolt pattern instead of the 7M.

None of the W58 flywheels are the same.

i'm not saying you're wrong on this :icon_smil but i read somewhere that the 1jz flywheel was like 20mm smaller or something. i didnt really compare it to my 7m flywheel when i had it out, but the clutch didnt look like it was overlapping anywhere or anything like that, so, that's the best evidence that i have to support that they're the same. oh well, its already in my car anyhow and working fine.
