Dry start? Was there oil?

Were you just cranking and cranking? IF yes it takes a while for it to build any pressure just using the starter.

yes theres all new oil in the motor and yes cranking for like 20 seconds and stopping because i didnt know if that would hurt the starter or motor and thanks for the reply ill try holding it out tomorrow and see what happens..i just have some decent money into my setup and would not want metal just floating threw my motor and turbo -_-

Pull the plugs and then crank the motor, it will be easier on the starter and require less voltage since you will not be building compression because it will be explaining.

7m starters are good starters, You can crank them for a couple min at a time. Just have to give it a 30sec-1min cool down for the solenoids.

Actually, I wouldn't be too worried. I have a fresh rebuild on mine top to bottom and my last motor (1jz) did the same thing. Crank and crank. No oil pressure building. So I took the oil feed line to the turbo off and laid it into a clear 2L bottle so I could see it from the drivers seat. I turned on the car, the oil instantly shot up and into the bottle. I literally had the motor on for 1 second. So in my humble opinion, I don't think there is anything wrong with the motor per say, I just literally don't think the starter makes the motor rev enough for the oil pump to make positive pressure. If you have oil in the motor and do what I did. You will not hurt a thing.
