2JZ-GTE VVTi with big turbocharger, AND.. what's that belt-driven thing down there below the turbo? Supercharger? Who dat? Me dat.
I'd love to see that thing run.
v160/1 fits fine in the tunnel, and for the shifter sitting in the flip-up coin holder or whatever you use it for.... you need to cut exactly four inches off of BOTH the bracket and linkage rod on the v160/1's shifter.
alternatively, you can keep the r154 and pull the hell out of mkivs with it's longer gearing. mkiv will be shifting into fourth while your still running hard in 3rd with it's own engine.
Twin-charging is not really a new thing - it's just new to some engines.
The 4A-GZE was the AW11 MR2's Supercharged engine. Well, HKS had a twincharger kit for it.
There was also the time Turbo magazine got a SW20 MR2, put a 1MZ-FE [Lexus 3.0L I-6] in there [which ironically, fit in the engine bay better than it's own turbo 2.0 I-4]. After they got it all running right, they put a TRD/Eaton supercharger on the engine. Then they turbocharged it.
Yes, they got the turbo kit from Alamo Motorsports - I believe it was a T-76? The MR-6 was managed by a Motec. I believe that they tuned it and they got to about 450hp before the head started to lift off the block, and they saw some white smoke. From there, they were talking about building the bottom and top end, but I never saw the results.
