For those who have done a 2JZ swap on theirs MKIII, would a 2JZ cooling fan and related parts such as fan and fluid coupling assembly, #1 and #2 fan shrouds, ect connetor and electric cooling fan motor connector fit on a 1J? My car started overheating a little yesterday (90* wheather but I caught it just in time). I'm running FAL electric fans (but I don't think they are keeping up with the motor) and I'm also running TRD 160* stat. I have those fans running at all times from the moment I start the car. Please I don't need educated guesses but actual facts. TIA. :1zhelp:

I haven't seen many times when the electric fans didnt perform better than any stock unit. I am still running the hydro fan without the temp sensor and it runs full blast all the time and mine stays nice and cool. Could always be a air bubble trapped in the system. All it would take is it to pass by the sensor and it would show hot all of the sudden my 86.5 7M did the same thing and after I flushed the system it never happened again. I would say go with the easiest and less costly things first before you just assume it is a fan problem. These arent educated guesses just trying to lead you in the right direction because if it were my car I would check those things first before performing drastic measures.

Ditch the electric fans and go with the mechanicla fan, either the 2jz mk4 clutch and fan or the LS400 clutch and 7m fan blade. You will never have cooling problems with a mechanical fan.

Amen to that one

FYI, I ran the FAL 210's for a few years, and everytime it would get 85+ degrees out side my temps would climb on the hwy. Scince changing to the mech fan I have had no problems, which includes driving from Canada to Las Vegas last Oct for SILV, there was a car in our group that had the FAL 210's and on every hill his temps would climb, and even had to pull over a few times to let his car cool down.
