My last gear in 2JZ-GTE changes very slowly so I checked gear code. It shows "89". I try to find meaning but cannot. If someone know please kindly let me know. (I used this engine in Thailand and so difficult to find information about gear code) Very many thanks.

usually codes related to the transmission start with the number 6.
is your O/D light flashing? Are you sure it's a code 89?

It's the 4 automatic gear. It always shift slowly from 3-4. I'm sure that it shows code 8 9. The overdrive is still normally work but when I drive on gear 4 and I accelerate just a little bit it always shift to be gear 3.
