Hey guys,
I was just wondering what power bands are you guys getting on 264 cams on a 2j big single. I did searches but couldn't find any. I was even looking on hks's site and brian crowers too to see if they posted up some power bands, and it looked pretty decent, but I wanted to get you guys opinion on it. Will the stock valve train take it, like it says on the brian crower site? or will upgrades to the valves need to be done?

Thanks

I ran HKS 264's in and out and truly did love them. I am running a big single 2jz. I saw power increases across the board. Also gave the exhaust a nice little extra growl to it. I highly recommend em. The were worth approx 60hp on my setup. Also didn't need any kinda adjustable cam gear with the HKS's and stock valve train too.

I believe hotscennessy(sp?) reported good results from cams on his NA-t 2j. Not sure what cams he had though.

Cool I'll look him up on sp. Thanks

When you say across the board could you specify rpm ranges? I'm currently on a mp t70 turbo and I hit boost at about 3500-3800 so will the rpm range drop lower or stay the same just a little more aggressive? I'm getting pretty anxious now about getting them.

I think I may be able to dig up a before and after dyno sheet. Give me a couple days.

They really made my top end shine as can be expected. But they also gave mid-range a healthy bump which again was expected. But I saw some small gains in the lowerish range which was not expected. I also noticed the turbo spooled sooner too.

I'll dig up the sheets for ya if I still have em.

I'd love to see some before and after sheets with cams.
I'm considering cams for my NA-t 2j build but I'm only aiming for low 500 so I'm debating whether I'll really need them, seeing the difference would help alot.

Ok, that's cool I appreciate it man. That's what I thought it would do, is boost up my mid to high end range, and that's pretty bad ass that it gives you a slight gain in low end especially a sooner spool. Thanks again can't wait to see the dyno sheet.

I have BC264's on my 1j, has a nice healthy powerband of ~2500-7xxx, but this is on stock twins. Power really doesn't drop off at all in the 7k range like the stock cams. 2j though, I can't speak for.

Really? I had a 1j before on my white 87 supra and yea I remembered that the power band did cut off or so at around 6200 or less been so long but it was noticable. For the 2j it was almost the same ( a little lower on rpm) but 2j's redline sooner so our power band isn't so high on the twins. Now, since I went big single my power band went up (obviously) but I just wanted more of a kick in midrange to high you know. Well that was some pretty good info that you gave, I'm really looking forward into get them now.
