hey wsup, 240s aint that bad of a car, i use to own a mk3 myself with an upgraded turbo. it was just too laggy for me on the streets. to tell you the truth my 240 with zeal coilovers is pretty fun. i had a really hard time when i decided to sell my supra because it had so much torque and that was fun.

MR- engine behind driver in front of rear axle. MR2, NSX
RR- engine behind the rear axle. Posche 996
FR- Front engine, rear drive. 240sx, your Supra
FF- Front engine, front drive. 200sx

You forgot FM (front mid engined) like the new viper, rx8, 350z etc

The motor is still up front but most of its mass is situated behind the front axle centerline

i agree, 240's are just fun, and like to hold the road. but having that grunt smash from the back just wins in my point of view and the rear view.

But there are no FWD 240's, which is what they were talking about in this thread, not FWD SR20's. How come none of the Kill threads stay on topic? :icon_conf

my best friend owns an S-13 chassis 240...with an SR in it...very very nice cars...we swap cars on occassion for the hell of it. it feels kinda laggy to me and doesn't have the same torque as the supra, but it gives me a very good run for my money until about 80 MPH....it's a fast car...it's got plenty of top end power (for a 4 cylinder)... and the whole 4 cylinder comment seems kinda ignorant to me... the basis of pride for supras is the fact that they are only 3.0 liters and most can kill engines MUCH larger than that...the adverse comments about 4cylinders sounds like something for a V-8 guy to say...go complain about it on a mustang or camaro forum...it's ignorant...

the SR-20 is a great motor....much like the 3S...and you can make them fast for cheaper than a 7M....but don't get me wrong...it's a cool car, but it will never have the same torque as the supra...and I feel the toyota chassis is superior in design and technology...but it does have that "smaller car" feeling...

they have thier pros and cons, but it just kinda irritated me with the 4cylinder comments...

unless you're talking about stock shitty KA that comes in them...yeah...those are pretty shitty...but an SR-20 powered 240 that's driving by an enthusiast and not just someone that swapped it in cuz it's the cool jdm hotness fad right now...will definitely suprise you...

and yes...the all trac owns all....

lol

We're definitely talking about the stock north american market engine here. With enough work, anything can be impressive - the fact with the 240 is that you couldn't walk onto a Nissan lot, buy one, drive it home, get out and want to say "Wow!"

240's are DEF. not slow...just like supra's...240sx's...with the right size wallet and the right brains can be quick very easily. it's all a matter of tuning it...my friend has an sr20...he's got some goodies as well and he's runnin a 12.4...4 cylinders are not slow...its all about the gearing and the DRIVER! i also have a friend w/ 96 Eclipse GSX (AWD Turbo), about 28 psi...right at 750awhp. dont underestimate a 4 cylinder...besides my supra and 3000gt...that's all i've ever owned!

*eclipse gsx, eclipse gs-t, eclipse gs, 240sx SE*

Yeah. I knew a guy that I worked with years ago who had a Nissan Pulsar, 2 door like a 2 door honda civic. He lightened the car and swapped a SR20DET engine. I think his car made 350 hp but since it was so light (less than 2000 lbs) the power to weight ratio was high and this car was fast.

Cheers,
Roy
