crap, it just looks like a $.04 resistor probably plugged in to throw the car into a closed loop system I imagine, or if I'm wrong, I'm just talking out of my ass.

Its the cheap way of clearing the CEL on cars with two o2 sensors, where one is removed by installing a downpipe or exhaust.

Doesn't actually increase the HP, just gives you back what the ECU took away.

Some are designed to trick the ECU into running lean or rich depending on the rating of the resister in relation to the oem signal range from the AFM sensor. So, on OBII vehicles, no. The ecu will learn around the resister and have you running back to stock within minutes.

On OBI, yes but dangerous. Its like an SAFC with only one setting with no variance and no way to tell what its set at. Try emailing the seller and ask what load resister is he using for the 7MGTE and youll never hear from him.

In theory, you could use a series of resisters and potentiometers on a vacume modulated variable control. One feed to the intake manifold and the other adapted to the RPM tach signal modulated in part by the throttle cable. Simple program base ROM board and a few days of tuning and programing in DOS you could make your own AFC but it would still be a tenth the speed and impossible totune and maintain.

In a nutshel, dont do it. Cut off your muffler, youd probably see the same gains and its not that loud at all and its free. No joke

THIS IS A RESISTOR

A single resistor for $10.50 shipped. It's a rip off. I fell for this once, I think I spent about $5-7 shipped and all I got was a resistor and generic instructions that didn't work for my car (I couldn't find whatever I was supposed to connect it to).

Yea I wouldn't try something like that, only thing like that I tried was a Venom 400 which consists of a computer or chip in a box that mounts in the engine bay and connects to the MAF and some of the other sensors, and also has an indicator light I had to wire to the cabin area that lets you know when it kicks on, not sure how much power it gave me but it was noticeable so I'd guess maybe 10 to 15 possibly more, it pulls harder when it kicks on.
