I was going to order that heavy duty shifter seat from Marlin Crawler and after I entered all my info, I see that they were going to charge $20 for shipping!! Its just a little plastic ring. Anyone really pay $30 for this thing?

An obvious case of... they really want more for the product, but can't ask too much for a "little plastic ring" so they jam you on the shipping to make up for it.

I thought about that, but just wanted to see if it was maybe some error that I made. Damn, guess I'll just have to go with the Toyota truck bushings. I read and was just a little worried about that part breaking down fast. Somebody had mentioned they replaced it twice within 6 months or something like short like that. Has it lasted for the rest of you?

CJ is one of their internet/phone sales guys. I've talked to him over the phone, via email and in person - nice guy. Anyway, the reason I say to call is that they probably have some shipping calculator that figures up the cost of shipping - its just for small parts like that it is far from accurate (ever used the ebay shipping calc? its fucked too). Call him, tell him what you want and where you want it shipped to and they will be able to work with you on the shipping side of things. This applies for any small company that uses an automated system for shipping charges (on the web) - it can't be accurate all the time.

when in doubt, just pick up the phone

I used to work for ups and that seems way off, UPS charges acording to size, weight and destination. Shouldn't be more than like $12.00. When I ordered through them IIRC shipping was $10.00. I say give them a call.
