Well got my second Supra turbo 2 weeks ago from a friend who never finished his BHG repair finally got it running tonight plan to have it running right tomorrow. So my new beauty is a white 89 turbo with a 5-speed and targa. From the doors back shes a beauty, everything in front of the doors looks pretty bad(I think it got keyed they sanded most but not all the marks down and thought it would be okay to just rattle can some white over the sanded parts bad color on hood and some of the paints peeling cant wait till I can afford paint. Interior wise the leather is cracked and torn a bunch its maroon and the rollcover for the hatch is torn but otherwise the interior just needs a cleaning. I forgot how fun the Supra is to drive and once running this ones going to be even better than the auto I had a few years ago( it was a burgundy pearl 91 turbo with sunroof). Getting tires switched from the sawblades to 5 spokes tomorrow as well. Two more days of waiting and I will have the car registered with non expired tags so I can bring it home and really drive it not just around the block. Tough even in my first little test drive it made my 85 celica seem like walking.

I'm also pretty sure my friend who was helping me fix it had converted into a future Supra owner, formerly a BMW person it hooked him on a small drive while not even running perfect yet:biglaugh:

I hope to have some pictures to show as soon as I can find a camera to borrow.

oooooh, 91 with a sunroof... thats nice! if it werent for the auto, i dont see why you would ever want to give up a car like that, unless you crashed it or somthing! how much would you sell the sawblades for (no tires)??

Make that 75% of all mkiii owners are waiting to get their wonderful machine up and running. Now what does that say about the car well nothing, the car is still before its time! Personally i think its are fault, the owners that is, fixing a supra should be free!!!:evil2:

soontohave: I only have 2 sawblades if you're interested how does $50+Shipping sound

Sorry this got a bit long I was writing more or less random paragraphs as thoughts popped into my mind but it's pretty much all about the Supra so I figure it's all good.

Turns out I have no way to get pics off my phone and into this thread, so I have a bunch of them but will have to wait for a real camera to get postable pics.

The Supra runs better everyday though I have a coolant leak somewhere around the back of the engine and I lose about 1-liter of water for about 25 miles of driving, going to pressure test the system this weekend and hopefully get it taken care of. It's wierd though because the only water I have seen under the car seemed to be dripping from behind the firewall and it was cold.

Does anyone else have this experience, everyone I have given a ride in the Supra who had never been in one after a couple blocks they all seem to love it, even my Grandpa who is hardcore Chevy and who I generally don't let help work on my cars because I don't like hearing someone say so much bad shit and cursing at my cars being stupid pieces of shit because they are kind of a bitch to work on, but it was nice to have even him say he liked the way it sounded and drove.

Didn't wreck the '91 the back seat caught fire and melted through a bottle of coolant and stained almost the entire interior orange it was very well repaired but I could still notice a slight orange tint to the leather everywhere but the lower part of the back seat(which was replaced) and a little fogging of orange on the plastic piece in front of the guages. I regret getting rid of it now and would buy it back in an instant if I had money and found it for sale even if it wasn't for sale I would still try.

I almost tried to find a Supra with an auto again since my now previous car an 85 Celica is a 5-speed and I got to the point I was so paranoid and uncomfortable driving it due to massive problems with steering, suspension, and tires all being completely shot and needing replaced. Actually coolant is the only thing that the Celica doesn't leak and the only leak on the Supra isn't that great. I started to think I was becoming a horrible driver all of that is now gone after a couple days in the Supra I am VERY glad I got a 5-speed, never once heard the BOV in the auto the sound is just incredible. An auto would be incredibly disappointing after learning and driving a 5-speed I can never go back at least not on a sports car.

My friend who gave up on finishing the bhg repair is happy I got the Supra running and on the road again but he was probably only 5-6 hours away from having it finished only took me about 8-9 hours of work and thats only because I wasn't a part of the tear down. I'm hoping to give him a ride in it this weekend and really make him wish he hadn't sold it to me:biglaugh: I found the California plates that were on the car when he bought it and they expired in '02 he bought it in '04 with a bad knocking sound he drove it home pulled the spark plugs and if I remember right 2 of them were closed no gap at all and the others were overgapped he re-gapped the plugs and it ran great for a month or two until the bhg. I think this car has been off the road for almost all of the last 5 years, now it runs almost perfect.

Alright I have been writing this for like 1.5 hours now adding a little here a little more over there I really should just stop if you read all of it cool if not thats cool too.

Heh, u dont like Auto tranny BOV sound??? I kno how u feel -.- ive had my Supra like 2months now, 1992 7m-gte+targa+auto, When i bought was BHG,
fixed it but i installed stock HG:icon_evil Ive kinda finished all the "nasty" jobs stopping leaks, fixing connections, changing oils etc.... Installed BOV 2days ago, its HKS SSQV cheap replica by Simoni Racing but it does the trick even at stock boost(tho it might whistle a lil more :icon_conf ) Just gotta release throttle before shift change u get same effect as manual tranny, tho i admit Manual is better for BOV Sound:evil2: But since im in Eastern europe people look me like a "omen on streets" and thats all im after. Watch out BMW guys ^_^ Love my Supra real bad and will save some cash to start a build up in near future.....Alright keeep modding it... peace:icon_bigg

This the BOV:
