2 short questions

Ok ive got an 87 NA supra and i have a couple questions. I just installed a prosport aftermarket oil pressure gauge and when i coldstart the car oil pressure goes to an unbelieveable 80psi at 1500 rpm, if i rev it during cold i can get the pressure above 90psi. after its all warmed up i know the idle pressure is around 7-10 psi but i havent checked higher rpm yet.


My other question is i bumped my speedometer needle when iwas working on the cluster and now the speedometer is off, i was wodnering if you guys knew of an rpm to speed chart i could use to re-align my speedometer. Thanks a lot!

The speed chart can be found using the search button at the top and searching "tables"

Usually, I'd say use the search button without any hints, but I know I've searched for that chart and not found it because its title is something like "rpm/gear" so neither RPM OR GEAR return a hit. Its annoying.

Anywho... your cold start pressure sounds very high.

What weight oil are you using?

i dont know because i bought the car and the oil was just changed, i would think its just a 10w30 or 10w40 but i really dont know. It also has a carquest filter on it

Stock pressure wasnt showing as high and im assuming it was terribly innacurate.

MPH x gear ratio x diff ratio x 336/ tire diameter = RPM.
