Hi all,
I just got my engine back after a full rebuild, but it's so long since i removed everything from it, i've forgotten where it all bolts!

so far i have 2 questions,
(but i'll probably be adding more as i go.)

(and i'll only ask stuff i can't find by searching, obviously.)

1) i have a 1/8" spacer for the flywheel, but does it go between the crank and the flywheel, or just under the bolt heads? (cant find it on the TSRM)

2) next to the dipstick hole in the block, just under the engine mount, there's a threaded hole (can only be seen with the mount removed). What bolts in to it?

Thanks for any help you can give me

no, it's a manual, R154.

the marks on it suggest it goes between the flywheel and crank, but i'd like confirmation.
it is a UK car, but i can't see there being a difference.

I know, that's what's confusing me.

It's definately come from there, as it's the same drilling as the flywheel.
ie, it only goes on one way.

i'm wondering if the previous owner had it made, to allow for metal being milled off or something, because surely Toyota wouldn't leave it off their drawings?

Under a damn Toyota
The spacer is only used on Autos, there is one in front of and behind the flexplate. If you look on the Toyota EPC it is in section 35-02 with the flexplate and converter

So i guess i'll leave it off, and see if everything goes together ok.

i just can't guess why it was on there.

WARNING: DO NOT use the flexplate screws with the flywheel even if they are long enough to thread in. The flywheel screws are longer and will not loosen themselves or cause damage to your crank. Also, only use Toyota genuine or ARP flywheel screws, people have had issues with old or generic screws backing out on them and causing all sorts of havoc

The spacer in your picture is a toyota spacer used on the autos.

Measure bolt lengths to be sure. Cannot tell from pictures. You definately do not want to use auto bolts. Since that spacer was put on there, was this a auto car originally? That would explain why someone put the spacer back not knowing. If so, they probably used the flexplate bolts which will NOT work.
