2 quistions?

1. roll cage does anyone have one in there supra? pics?

2.so i just got my car dynod like i said in another post it made 475 at 24psi on a stock motor with only a mhg and arp's. my tuner said i need cams and meth injection to break in to the 500's. my qiustion is i have seen allot of ppeople make 500 on a stock motor withno cams and no meth. do i need these mods or is he just trying to make me spend money

There are alot of red flags with what you are saying. Either that or you are Merlin and have developed magic hp dust that you sprinkle all over the engine.

Need way more details about your set-up.

Meth injection and cams are not needed to break 500rwhp. The general consensus is our stock cams are good for around 500rwhp, maybe even more. However, the problem is with the flow of our heads. With a decent port job, you should see a substantial increase.

thats a pretty decent setup. you should be able to break 500 with some race fuel and a better tune. but as mentioned before, a ported head and upgraded valve train would make those numbers more realistic. building the bottom end would be a good idea as a 20+ year old motor most likely needs to be freshened up. i would also upgrade the fuel system before you do much else... i assume you already did to hit 475.

Sounds to me like a stock motor, with stock fuel, mgmt, turbo, pipes, exh, int, etc. I must have read too carefully- I dont know what hes got unless he spells it out a-la post#6.

Sounded like some dope who thought his sticker was worth 15hp.

I can see now thats a nice setup and a better tune should net the final 25hp. I agree a port match would do wonders at that level, maybe a WB to see where the power is being lost. Even just a polish and not port or match would help when it comes to FI, maybe a larger tb. Doesnt the VQ45 have a tb that compatable and larger?

You tuner is telling you the truth. You need more flow through the head...cams are part of the equation and will net you some gain at that level. To take full advantage of the cams, you will need a port job on the head and oversize valves.

The meth injection is so you can keep the motor. You are pretty much at the limit where detonation is a big factor (especially on pump gas). Meth will suppress detonation and allow you to add timing. I suggest a fail safe where if you run out of meth or if the system fails, the EMS will limit boost...detonation will kill a motor in short order.
