i need some help with a few wires that goes to the E10 plug. I have a 89 NA with the pre89 plugs. i have about 7 wires plugged into the E10 right now but it isn't running right. where did you guys get the signals from? (IGN, +B, +B!, M-REL, BATT... etc) that kinda stuff. i have some but i don't think they are right. all the wire diagrams are not helping me. i am getting so confused. my color wires are different and i have more wires than what is listed and shown in the online thing for wiring 2jz into ma70

thanks

i am so lost right now. i still have 2 cylinders that are not working.

ECU - ?
Ignitor - Good
Coils - Good
Injectors - Good - 720cc
Fuel injector resistor - Good - 7MGTE resistor pack
Spark plugs - Good - NGK gapped at .032
Wiring to injectors, coils, ignitor - Good
Cam position sensors - Good
Crank position sensor - Good
TPS - Good
turbo pressure sensor - Good
Fuel pressure - Good - 38psi i think

I remove the BO wire from coil 1 and it makes no difference to the engine. when i remove the wire to coil 2 through 5, it about kills the engine. coil 6 has no effect wither. but when i remove the wire coming from the igniter, it kills the engine. I bought another ECU, should be here in a week. if the ECU doesn't fix this, i don't know where else to look.

check to see if the coils are firing.. or if the injectors are.

E10 doesn't have anything to do with only 2 cylinders.

Only problem I can see is the 3 channel resistor on a 6 channel system. May have friend injector drivers in the ecu? IIRC though it should give the proper resistance, so shouldn't be a problem. Though I haven't verified or looked into it at all really.

My bet would be a problem with the resistor pack & wiring

i've used the 7M resistor before on my 87 i swapped a 2jz into. that car ran perfect. this one is giving me so much trouble.

i tested the injectors, they are all working. i quickly applied voltage to them off the engine, i swapped coils around. i tested continuity on all the wires.

either the igniter i bought from driftmotion is bad or, like you said fried injector drivers.

is there a way i can make the ecu fire 2 injectors at a time? i know they are all seperate, but 2 of the cylinders are firing at the same time right? can i just tap into the other good driver? just briefly to see if the ecu is indeed the problem?

Of course you can!

Why not try moving the resistor channels around? Like swap 2 of the outputs and see if the problem moves?

If you needed to you can use just about any toyota inj resistor. A 4age one will support up to 2 channels.

Get the problem to jump cylinders and you've found the problem.

well, today i decided to go out and poke around again on some wires. i know that cylinders 1 and 6 are dead. so i look at the igniter to narrow it down some more and i discover that the wires going to the coils for 1 and 6 are crossed. see, my harness was cut so i had to wires up the igniter myself. pin 6B is for cyl 1 and 12B is for cyl 6. i simply had them crossed and now it revs like it should and idles differently. it smokes a little more than before now as well. but it drives soo much better, but still has a problem building boost. i'm pretty sure there are holes in my intercooler. and my wastegate sucks. and i found a water nipple is starting to leak, so i have to replace that before i drive it again.

so my ECU is fine and so is the rest of the electronics and wiring. it still has a little roughness revving, but i'm sure it's my spark plugs. i'm sure new ones will fix that.

when i get back from deployment i am going to get a turbo from driftmotion, the blitz exhaust, a different wastegate and another intercooler. finish up cleaning up the wiring and make the engine shine. i'm so excited now that it runs like it should, minus a few hickups still to be resolved.

OMG.... i just replaced the spark plugs and now it runs so freakin good. still a problem building boost, but i'm sure the wastegate is the culprit. the turbo is also a POS. can't wait till i get the one driftmotion has.

i am so excited that it runs now. i'm gonna get a aluminum radiator and a few other things to complete it. i did a victory lap around the block and took a shot of yager. today is a good day
