Put your flame-throwers away...I'm just curious.

I've heard of this swap talked about in theory, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any existing examples or writeups regarding an MA70-1UZ-FE hybrid?

In particular I'd like to know how straightforward the swap would be and how much fabrication is involved.

Any kits commercially available to aid in this swap?

Any info on this subject is greatly appreciated!

That's the one, although I don't know about the supercharged part.

Time for a 3UR-FE swap, me thinks.

Interesting idea, but wouldn't you be better of with the 1URE-FSE? Although the 3URE-FSE is an impressive 5.7 liters, if you check the bore and stroke you will find that the extra displacement (1 liter more than the 1URE-FSE) is gained by way of a longer stroke. So basically what you end up with is a torque monster more suited to a truck (which is what the motor was designed for).

By way of comparison, the 1URE-FSE has a much shorter stroke (quicker revs and better top end power) and it would seem to me a better choice for the Supra. Also, and possibly most important I believe they are both alloy block and heads! Probably weighs less than our current mill (7mgte).

Opinions anyone?

Stroke has no bearing on low end vs top end. It changes the whole torque curve. You are boosting output down low, but on top also. You think the Z06 Corvette with a 7.0 has no top end? The heads, cam timing, and manifold design has influence on shaping the low end vs high end. A ridiculously long stroke with high piston speed could compromise you in a long race.

A 5.7 Supra is the best idea. If it is too much money, go LS1. Jeff Langes' idea FTW.

No need for a flame suit. A 1UZFE swap is a great idea.

i think that toyota already showed a TRD version of the tundra. Lowered, red with black wheels and a supercharger. Basically a bigger s/x-runner

The 2uzfe supercharger bolts right up to the 1uzfe.

a 4 year old post....really?

and the 2UZ-FE TRD supercharger is only theoretically going to fit to a VVT-i 1UZ-FE. not these earlier engines. totally different head/intake.

I know right. Its something like it takes almost 1000hp to turn a top fuel cars s/c. Shits insane.

Now a magnuson would be easy as pie to turn and make tons of power.

Would a 3UR fit in the engine bay? They look massive, but maybe it's just the land yacht they come in from the factory making it look that way. I was just thinking a TRD supercharged 3UR would be killer in an A70 the other day.
