i thought Redline shockproof transmission fluid was the way to go with R154's because of the thrust washer weakness??

I'm running syncromax in mine (cause I picked up the wrong stuff) and it shifts for shit, it's too slick for the syncros in our trannys...

I used to run max gear, and while it did help the shifting, I'm going with redline...

This shows 31231 as the part # to the throwout bearing and I have the 31230... maybe the one for the W58?

Arrrrgggghhhhhhhh!!!

Dejacky,
Any updates or info to share?? I may need for you to make a trip to North Texas!
Use the normal mkIII R154 washers/bearings. This is how I did it:

lol, Satan, those are pretty easy to get from the dealer...

I made the mistake of getting it at a local dealer, way back when I thought I needed it ASAP... shoulda known better and just got all of it from Curt to begin with.

Didn't have time to get it ordered today... looks like my 1st "not having parts on hand" delay, for this project.

I'll get started on replacing the carpet for tonight then...

Thanx for the link DeJacky!

Does anyone have a picture or diagram of this "throw-out bearing Plastic Piece?" I don't remember putting one in during my install and am hoping my clutch problems will be solved by adding this piece? :aigo:
