You will need to steal all the dash plugs (non-ecu) and junction block plug from your original engine wiring harness to splice/repin the 1JZ engine harness itself. It should become clear if you read these diagrams, http://1jz.com/tech/docs/wiring/ assuming you have a JZA70 1JZ. The diagrams show the 1JZ plug w/ wires on one side and your 7M plugs on the other to which you steal the wires from the 1JZ plug.

Your ECU will have 4 plugs that contain 2 rows of pins each if it's out of a Supra. You'll just need to bypass the neutral/park safety switch from the auto wiring.

If it's a soarer 1JZ you will have extra wires left on the body harness near the fuse box.

Look at the wiring diagrams for your year (the 89+ are different). I found them online, but I don't remember where. Most of the ones online are for the 89+. Follow the wires you have there and see what they connect to, then look them up in the diagram to see what they are for and figure out if you need them or if the new engine harness already takes care of what they do.

There's a thread at the top of this forum about wiring a soarer 1JZ into the 87 chassis. I used that to wire mine up, I have the same swap in the same year. There are some errors in the original post, but I posted the corrections in a reply to that thread. You'll have to do some reading but it should help.

You need to pull the c1 connector off your old na harness and run the black orange and black yellow to the Ecu through the 1j harness. The black red can be spliced into tue middle of the harness that's b+.

You have all the plugs for the Ecu correct ?

Then you just need to re wire for the body plugs. I just used a volt meter and saw where each wire went and then spliced.
I also deleted trac and the hydrofan wiring out of mine.

The alternator plug wires will need to be run to the old 7m alt wiring connectors. And a new big gauge wire for the alt will need to be run to there also.

There should be a soarer write up at the top of this section. It might be a tad confusing tho as it doesn't say what each wire is for.

ok i got them wired up how i think, i crank the engine over and it wont fire up, i sprayed some carb clean into the intake many and it sounded like it wanted to turn on, so i guess its not getting fuel? well i checked the injectors and there is power going to them, i also checked all coils for spark and they were good.
Also there is a thin black wire near the diagnostic box i traced it back to the ecu and it leads to (sta) neutral start switch but why is it doing by the diag box?

Yes, we can help you out. Call Phoenix Tuning. Ask to speak to Dr.Tweak and tell him you want him to do your harness for you. He will ask you all the info and you can place the order, either him or another person there will take this information from you.

If you are not the best when it comes to wiring, do not really attempt doing this on your own as it is an easy way to set your car on fire.

If you are willing to spend hours to learn to read electrical diagrams and pinouts correctly and figuring out where power and ground are supposed to go, then you can do it, if not, give Phoenix Tuning a call, it will lessen your headaches.
