Wow! this car is insanely fast, so far so good. Engine runs like a champ, no vibration in the body so the mount is holding well. I have a couple of issues, i need a oil restrict in the turbo feed line, My car seems to be getting hot after about 30mins-hour of driving the temp goes to about 210 degrees and gets cooler at idle?? I'm not sure what thermostat i have?? I think it's because the Intercooler is mounted right in front of the rad. I'm using the stock rad. so might be time for a new aluminum RAD. I'm going to flush my system and if that doesn't work then I'm getting a new rad.

Did i say how fast this car is? Bark tires in 4th! Thats with the stock 14's though I do have a little lag that I'm not use to; i barley have any boost in first gear, but second is a different story. The 62-1 i have has a 68 a/r hot side that i thought would be pretty quick spooling.. possible Reasons for slower spooling are tuning, ebay crap turbo, or loose wastegate spring...etc


The 1jzgte has a awesome exhaust note, hitting boost revving out to 7k is amazing; 1jz is one of the best sounding engines ever made bar none. If i had to guess this car will run 12's as it sits..I mean at the top of second im already going 60mph+

My wide band is acting up, it reads 15.5 at idle, cruising and under hard acceleration?? I don't think that I'm lean only pushing 10psi.. Im still on stock injectors so maybe i am lean??? Still have to wrap my exhaust and manifold to control under hood temps.. Might install my 440cc injectors tomorrow??? anyway more later

Hard to definitively say whether you're running lean or not, considering I know nothing more than what you mentioned about your turbo, but if you're always seeing the same number on your wideband, you probably have a bit of digging to do. I'm on stock twins, and never run lean under boost, at all, at around 11psi.

Soooooo... I'm also in for pics. A 260z might be in the future for a buddy of mine at the shop, just gotta convince him he needs it. :p

WB issue sounds like a fouled sensor, they usually read stoich under these conditions, you can try burning the carbon and deposits off with an Oxy Torch being careful NOT to melt the end of the sensor that can bring them back, or you can swap out the sensor they don't last forever.

Also why beat on the car until you can be sure of what it's doing fuel wise?

Just seems like a huge risk at this point with a high potential for failure..

I ajusted my wastegate now it boost to 15psi, then i hit fuel cut..so i might have to change springs to my 10 psi spring

Not much to look at right now, hopefully in a month or so she will be painted..ive got some mkII 14X7 wheels going on until i get some new wheels...money tight right now..

I would dig the ride, I have a 6spd black top beams 3sge in a 1969 opel gt the whole car is under 2000lbs and with about 275whp all motor it is projected high 10's to low 11's

Your car will be fast I saw a Z in sandiego with an LS in it chirp 4th gear with a LSD going in a streight line the car still was sideways.

10 second 1/4 is pretty likely. Andy of AZPerformance's 7m powered 240 was running low 11's with Kuhmo MX's if I'm not mistaken. Was definitely capable of faster times, and only had ~480rwhp.

Oh, and Ian, I don't suppose you have a build thread on that green monster?

Takes more than just engine power to run 10's..you can pretty much brute force your way to low 12's high 11's..but 10's alot of other things have to happen..safety first!

Like I said I really miss that car, tried to buy another here a few years back with the idea of putting my 500+rwhp 7M into it but they're all either dogs or so over priced I couldn't justify it!

Good luck with yours and I hope you do a build thread covering it all so I can have it vicariously!
