1JZ Y-Pipe: Recommendations?

I'm in the market for one. Would rather go aftermarket if I'm going through the trouble of yanking off the twins. What's good and what should I stay away from? Not familiar with what's out there so point me in the right direction. Thanks.

EDIT: I've seen one kit which is both the downpipe & y-pipe (2pc.) on eBay. Anyone with this setup?

Might be pulling the trigger on this based on feedback.

they're the same as the ones 935 sells i believe which are a knock-off of what BIC made a while back from what he says. I bought mine from 935. Material's kinda thin but not in a durability sense. Nice piece over all though and I didn't have a fitment issue.

I have the ebay one, same quality as the 935 one just check the welds when you receive it I always check that when it comes from ebay. Other than that it works great, go for the one that's listed at the lowest cost, all are the same.

How was the install? I'm assuming you pulled out the twins then swapped them back in with the new y-pipe. I've been getting lots of complaints with those I've talked to on fitment (especially in-car install vs. engine on a stand), yet others are posting their satisfaction with the product. Maybe luck of the draw? You either get a good one, or one that's completely off. There also seems to be a very big pricing difference between our vendor and the buy it now price on eBay.

I put it on when the engine was out on the stand, the only neg. about it is that the flange holes had to be enlarged because they weren't lined up correctly to the turbos, which was a pita. Other then that everything else was fine, but you'll have to pull the twins.

like how much are we talking about enlarging here. did you just use a die grinder? where they cocked or just bad flanges? I order mine off ebay, so some time this week I will get them but i want to know what I'm getting in to sens you did it all ready. I hope it's not to much grinding I don't want to make a mess in my garage.

Negative. Can still boost 10psi in my experience. A select few with sticky wastegates maybe.

Some are worse then others, some people i've talked to hadn't at all. Mine wasn't too bad like 3 holes lined up and 1 had to be slightly ovaled out, I used an air grinder when I did it so a dremel would probably take a lot longer.

I made the original y pipe with some welding help form BIC. Once I was done with the twins I sold them to a guy that then sent them to China to get knocked off. The one mistake they made was to make them in 2.75" pipe and not the 2.5 I made the y part with. This change made it hard to fit them with out grinding the motor bracket.

With the y pipes and catless 3" exhaust I was getting 15psi with them and an intake.
