:1zhelp:
ok please forgive my bad spelling and puntuation.
ok so i bought a 1jzgtte complete for 700 with alot of extra little goodies, but the problem is im a little confused on my wiring. The engine came out of a 1991 Toyota chaser, it has the jzz30 harness well i only have the first two plugs on the ecu
jzz309gp.jpg
so my question is do i really need the last two or can i do with out? or the other question i have is my harness complete or do i have the wrong ecu? then i got to looking at my transmission that came with my 1jzgte and i noticed that the transmission is not even same and the hole for the starter is even on the wrong side. so i got to looking on line and the 1jzgte and the 7mge share the same automatic transmission just the bell housing bolts seems to be slightly smaller so i was wondering sense im really low on cash can i just bore the holes out on the bell housing to make the bolts for the 1jz fit. or can some one help me find a cheap used r154?
so can some one please point me in the right direction i have always been a honda guy but now i want to build a real car.

i have a jzz30 harness and i can tell you there is more than two plugs that connect to the ecu...

you could have a chopped and hacked up harness that's why the buy was sooo cheap... make sure you do a compression test cause you maybe need a rebuild for a 1jz that cheap.

yeah sorry about that i was a little in a hurry last night.
ok so from what im understanding i really dont need the last two plugs to make the car run correct? just aslong as i make sure the injectors and sensors are getting there 12v source?
also is there anything i can do about my transmission problem ?

hmmm you could use a w58 but would need a 1jz bell housing... you might as well go with R154 for the price of the bell housing... as far as auto tranny... not sure...

yeah well i went out to the garage and looked at my auto tranny the bell housing is completely different even in the length apart of the holes on the block to the transmission.
the reason i got the engine so cheap is because the guy ran out of cash had a baby and he couldnt understand how to wire the engine up.
but i dont plan on giving up on this car i have always wanted a supra and i only gotta drive mine for 3 days sense i bought it before my 7m messed up.

well actually i got to thinking i know of a 2jz automatic transmission sitting in the junkyard for $50.00 could i use that transmission on my 1jz?
also would that transmission fit the the mkiii supra or is it larger?

is your 1jz auto or manual... fly wheels are different

Side note. The reason why you guys with Chaser 1jz's do not get those other two plugs is because it is the body harness or a 2nd harness I looked on line and have seen MANY* people selling the harness and those two ECU plugs are missing or have been cut!
