1JZ thermostat, is there a substitute?

I think they sell the rubber ring that goes around it seperately. Make sure yours isn't tore.

I have the 2JZ TRD 160 thermostat in my 1JZ. Going to be replacing it now that I'm in the process of installing the single. Champion Toyota keeps them in stock, call and ask for Jeff Watson.

excuse my noobness but whats a 160 thermo? :hs:

It means it opens at 160 degrees, but I wouldn't recommend using that on a basically stock engine.

1jzspecial fyi in the future all parts are listed in the 1jz in the swap parts sticky at the top. i just went to autozone and bought mine. i think all together it was maybe 15-20 here for thermo and ring. might be different where u r.
