1JZ Swap with ECU problem

Got a JDM 1JZ with the ecu, sent it off to driftmotion for the cap fix but still not sending anything out. Can I just go with a 2JZ ECU instead? Anything I need to do or is it just "plug-n-play"? Are they more available?

What are the symptoms? Are you sure its not the wiring? Do you get a check engine light when you turn the key to 'ON' but don't start the car.

As for swapping to a 2jz ECU, its not plug and play. You'll need an adapter harness and then you need to run 3 new wires to convert the injection to full sequential.

Have you tested the Ecu on another car?

No check engine light. Don't have anything available to me to test it on
Is there someone that can do a full test on an ecu?

When you jmer to check codes what does your CEL do?

Its not communicating to get any codes.

It sounds like you may not have power to the ECU if you get no check engine light at all. Is this a new swap, or was it running before?

New swap. Had to run a bypass wire to ignition to get other half of ecu to respond.

ok, it cranks but wont stay running. as soon as you hit gas pedal it dies. does the 1jz run a different fuel pressure than the 7m?
