I'm finishing up the wiring for the body plugs in my 89 ma70 and I'm down to 4 wires that I'm pretty sure are for the TEMS

From the ma70 B1 plug:
#2 (red with white stripe)
#3 (red)
#4 (black)
#14 (purple)

Now here is why I am a little unsure.. all of the body plugs had been cut already from the 1j engine harness, which makes it just a little more difficult to identify the wires. Also, I am unsure if all the wiring harnesses come equipped with TEMS wiring..

Anyways,
There is one red wire with a white stripe on the engine harness unused that leads into one of the ecu plugs
There is one solid red wire that also leads into the same ecu plug
There are TWO black wires available, one that leads into the same ecu plug as the other red wires, and the other going into the body of the rest of the engine harness (also, one black wire has two gray dots on it, whereas the other has only one gray dot)
There is one solid purple wire unused that goes into the body of the rest of the engine harness

So, is it safe to assume that the wires that go into that ecu plug are the wires I need to splice into my ma70 B1 body plug??
And is it also safe to assume that the last purple wire is also for the TEMS? According to a diagram I saw, it looks as if there should be TWO purple wires, one unused and the other goes to TEMS.. but I only have one anyways

B1#2 goes to TEMS IH2#15 That is red and white stripe
B1#3 goes to TEMS IH2#14 solid red
B1#4 goes to TEMS IH2#4 Solid black
B1#14 goes to TEMS IH2#6 Violet

IH2 is the clip that it comes from. It comes from the engine harness. It's not the ecu. From what you said you are missing the clips from the engine side of the harness thats why I gave you the colors of the wires. Take pics so that we can see what your working with.

here are the b1 wires

here are three of the wires that I THINK are the right ones.. but am not sure.. they are the right colors

here are where those three wires lead (plug to the ecu)

As you can see, the original body plugs have already been removed, so I cannot tell if they came from the IH2 clip or not, all I have is cut wires. That is the only reason I am being cautious before I start splicing in wires..

here is the SECOND black wire that is unused which leads into the body of the engine harness, and not into the ecu plug

And here you can see the only violet wire left, which leads into the body of the engine harness.. I am not sure if this is the wire I need

The rest of the body plugs are finished, the 4 wires from the b1 plug are all I have to worry about and the wires shown in the pics are what have not been used.

Purple is the TEMS check connector in the engine bay on your harness.

The Black, Red, and red with white stripe go to the ECU for the TEMS the ECU on the car has inputs for those three wires for load conditions.

These pages will help you.

oh dude... thank you so much.. I was looking everywhere for a complete pinout..

so those are the correct wires then.. and the purple one that is left over is also the correct one then, right?
