Dude I just finished my 2nd swap, you don't have to extend the harness thats a load of crap and everyone that went through the time and trouble to do that is retarted. Simply take the top section of the harness from where it comes outta the back of the intake manifold and strip all of the shielding/plastic 90 degree/any black crap till all ur left with is straight wires. Then pull them all straight so theyres no bends and retape. That alone is technically long enough to make into the factory harness hole, but it would be a stretch. What I did was cut a hole in the fire wall on the diagonal plane section below the heater VSV and above the ABS lines if you have em. Pass it through there and above the a/c condensor box and ur good to go. Wire up the EA2, extend the alternator wire, wire up IH1, IH2, and IG1 and bam you're good to go sucka. If you have progressive power steering ull need to move that connector back over to the drivers side as well. Oh and for those of you doing 2JZ swaps with 1JZ harness' like myself the intake air temp sensor isnt the same plug, have to cut and replace with a 2JZ unit, and the map sensor plug needs to be extended a good 8 inches if you're using the boost pressure sensor mounted on the intake manifold instead of the firewall. Flame all you want but the 1JZ swap is easy as shit with the wiring diagrams listed above, of course props to those that pioneered the swap but to those of you that swore up and down you have to have to must extend the harness you should be hit with a bat. You have caused many a good man alot of pain trouble money and ongoing wiring problems because of it and should be ashamed. My first harness I extended with speaker wire, and it worked flawlessly, infact its still running great 3 years later, but never again lol.
