So... Just slide the harness through the jhole and plug it into the ma70 outlets... No harness cuting or extending????

You'll gain the required lenght from your jumper harness. 16" from connector to connector IIRC

You enlarge the speedo hole dont add a hole just enlarge the esisting one its in a perfect spot but you have to break the plastic guide at the end of the plenum so the wires go streight towards the opening on the fire wall with a little bit of slack.

to build your jumper harness use the 7m engine harness cut all the wires on the 7M side going to the engine off about 6" away from the connector except the yellow wire and the other wire going to the heater control leave it intact with the connector on it you have to pull it back through the 7m olf efi hole to wire up the heater control.

splice the yellow wire from there and all the rest to the matching JZA70 connectors from your clip and do the same cut the connectors from the JZA70 clip with 6" of pigtail wires. splice them together using the pinout map from ricks web page.

Here is the thing it will work but they are making a jumper harness that extends the 150 wires instead of the 13-25 wires that go between body connectors only.

Also he had problems with that design it put a big block of nasty connectors in the engine bay or right there behind the firewall in a crowded area.

just do this and you will know what to do.

enlarge the speedo hole pull your 1jz wires in the car through that hole run the wires to the glove box behind the stereo. mount your ecu in the glove box face the ecu towards the driverside instead of the front of the car. flip the brackets around until it mounts that direction.

once you have the ecu plugged in & every thing is good to go you will see 2-3 connects on each side of the glove box not connected.

your jumper harness goes directly between those three connectors use the map from ricks page to figure out how out splice the two connectors together if you car was auto and your going to manual you have to splice a set of wires together so your car will start otherwise your car will react like when you were trying to start your old 7M engine but with the car not in PARK there is a NSW you must splice together but for now make the hole mount your ecu and hook it up when you get to the next step we could guide your from there.

pm dr. tweak. he makes plug and play harnesses, and his prices arent super high. you mail him the jz harness and your ma70 harness, and he sends you back an extended harness that is plug and play.

Dude I just finished my 2nd swap, you don't have to extend the harness thats a load of crap and everyone that went through the time and trouble to do that is retarted. Simply take the top section of the harness from where it comes outta the back of the intake manifold and strip all of the shielding/plastic 90 degree/any black crap till all ur left with is straight wires. Then pull them all straight so theyres no bends and retape. That alone is technically long enough to make into the factory harness hole, but it would be a stretch. What I did was cut a hole in the fire wall on the diagonal plane section below the heater VSV and above the ABS lines if you have em. Pass it through there and above the a/c condensor box and ur good to go. Wire up the EA2, extend the alternator wire, wire up IH1, IH2, and IG1 and bam you're good to go sucka. If you have progressive power steering ull need to move that connector back over to the drivers side as well. Oh and for those of you doing 2JZ swaps with 1JZ harness' like myself the intake air temp sensor isnt the same plug, have to cut and replace with a 2JZ unit, and the map sensor plug needs to be extended a good 8 inches if you're using the boost pressure sensor mounted on the intake manifold instead of the firewall. Flame all you want but the 1JZ swap is easy as shit with the wiring diagrams listed above, of course props to those that pioneered the swap but to those of you that swore up and down you have to have to must extend the harness you should be hit with a bat. You have caused many a good man alot of pain trouble money and ongoing wiring problems because of it and should be ashamed. My first harness I extended with speaker wire, and it worked flawlessly, infact its still running great 3 years later, but never again lol.
