well i had a friend call me over to check out this swap he was doing on his 1990 Supra turbo auto. i liftes the hood only to see a 1JZ sitting inside the engine bay with wires like crazy going everywhere.
he said my car was sitting in a shop for 5 months and they did not know how to wire it up. me being a good friend knowing little about the Toyota scene my specialty is Rotary's i figured i would help.
so i investigated
1)the engine harness has been extended and is plugged into the 1J ecu the connectors are grey and have 4 rows of pins?
2) the ignitor and the diagnosis port and fuse box has been cut off clean from the harness on the drivers side
3) they gavbe him back his 7m ecu and harness untouched.
4) the 1 jz they installed came with an auto trani which is still mated to the engine and in the vehicle
all he wants is to start the engine.
i looked through all the swap info on the forum and it seams to be relativly straight forward.
my question is what will start this thing up without bothering with gauges and auto trani operation...just the bear minimum just tumble over and start.
thanks
sean
