My hose was rubbing on the serpentine belt and now it has a little cut. Im trying to patch it up with some expoxy type stuff and see what happens. If it doesnt work, ill have to get another one. Does anyone know if the 2jz hose is the same as the 1jz?

If it's not the high pressure line it's fairly generic hose and you can probably find a replacement at any auto parts store. If it is the high pressure line, then yes, the 2jz hose is compatible, and don't bother to try and patch it.

Its the high pressure since when I tried to turn the wheel it sprayed all over the engine. Had to degrease the whole belt! Ill try to take pics of it. My IC piping (stock smic) goes right through it and the belt is maybe a inch above it. The piping moving made it rub on the belt and cut a hole. Im using 1500psi epoxy stuff. I used it before to repair my boost leak in the IC piping and it worked.

heres the hose.... and the belt that it was rubbing on. The IC piping went in btwn the hose and the pwr steering pump up to the intake mani

Looks like it was caused by the fact that it's routed incorrectly. It should go straight down from the PS pump past the side of the AC pump, nowhere near the belts.

yeah i was wondering about that myself.... you are better off with the driftmotion line since you can route that yourself out of harms way.......

driftmotion? straight fittings, he used to have banjos but found the ones he uses now flow a lot better.

not sure about length, my mkiv one goes under the oil pan and routes back up to rack

I tought i could get one here at home instead of ordering one from the us. But i will probably have to order from driftmotion anyway to get some seals and such..

By the looks of the OEM hose, the PS rack sits in a different spot. Try PM-ing bigaaron or asking in the Driftmotion forum to find out if the Driftmotion line will work for you.

I finally got around to doin my ps hose. Took me a little while but it got it done.
The steering was still a little stiff and the pump still makes some noise. I was driving it around and I hit a little bump nothing major and PRESTO!!! lol I can turn the wheel with my pinky! Feels weird cuz I got used to the stiff wheel since the swap was done. Hope nothing broke, ill check it tomorrow

weird, does it still make noise? usually noise = needing fluid change or its low.
