Getting a 1JZ motor set with auto trans. for $1600. Is that a reasonable price? It has motor, auto trans., ECU, un-cut harness with ignitor and maybe some other stuff. Gonna check it out before I buy it, because the first time I saw it I didn't look at it really hard.

Also, I don't plan on using the auto trans., but my car is an NA 5spd with the W58. I've heard that the W58 can be used with a 1JZ as long as you have the 1J bell housing, is this true? I know the W58 won't hold much power, but I wanted to use it until I could get an R154, which won't be too long and it will barely be driven any till then. Will it work?
Thanks.

If it's $1600 SHIPPED...then it's a fair price.

But if you're not even going to be using the transmission...You can find a hell of a better deal than that. ;)

If you plan to buy that package, be prepared to buy new motor mounts/brackets, hack your wiring harness to work in an MA70, get a rear sump oil pan & be on the lookout for some torque.

Jeff

P.S. I paid $1100 shipped for my 1J/AT/ECU/uncut harness. ;)
