are the 1j and 2j pistons and rods the same? And if they are why can't order 2j internals for our motor with the exception of the crank?

i believe the pistons are the same and the rods are different.

pistons are the same. Search before you post please as well. this has been discussed before. search 7m bore, look under equation of displacement and it will tell you whats different between a 1j and a 2j

I don't. I've never seen 1jz rods in person. He seemed to be so sure of it, so I thought I would ask him.

well after sending to an engine builder that SP uses.. they remarked that they were stronger then 2j rods due to thier shorter length, AND same thickness.
