1JZ performance question- fuel /ecu turbo suggestions

I am new to this forum as I just purchased a 1JZtt with a 5-speed. I am putting it in my 64 Triumph TR4 but I want to make some performance upgrades. First of all, I realize it has ceramic wheels in the turbo's so I plan on upgrading to either a single turbo or slightly larger twins. I understand upgrading exhaust and intercooler. I am looking for about 450rwhp on 92 octane fuel. Here are my questions

1) What do I need to do about fuel? I am wondering if the stock ECU can support that with larger injectors or if I would end up running rich all the time?

2) I could also use some turbo suggestions as I want to retain quick spool up and midrange as much as possible as I will be autocrossing this vehicle as well. I would rather have a responsive engine that made 425rwhp than a laggy engine that made 450rwhp.

If anyone has a proven power recipie, I would love to hear it.

Thanks,
Derek

1) yes, with a piggy back (afc, emanage)

2) gt30

1)What piggy back do you recommend? Are there any out there that will do a good job without breaking the bank? Where do I find one?

2)gt30? I am assuming that is a single turbo. Size? Brand? Where can I get one etc.

Sorry about all the questions, I am not familiar with the equipment or where to get it yet.
Thanks,
Derek

gt35R would be your best bet for that hp goal. The only problem with this turbo is lag. But since you have a 1jz, and can rev to 8000 you dont need to worry about it too much. You'll get full boost around 4000 with a large elbow/dp.

The gt30 and gt35's are made by Garrett. They are ball-bearing turbos that are reliable and powerfull. A good choice for a 1jz.

As for fuel, drop in some 440's and get the apexi safc (gauges first)

Just make sure your engine is in top-notch runing condition first :)

Your better off with 550's or larger for that horsepower goal. Shouldn't worry about LAG if your autocrossing, you'll be in high RPM's so why worry about spool up?

As for ECU, Greddy Emanage Blue, Apex'i power FC, Mircotech, or AEM? It's all in the tune! You have plenty of choices, just check the pages on this section. Good luck, and post up on your build:icon_bigg

fuel recipe:

USDM 550s from a 2jzgte
resistor pack wired in
high flow fuel pump
Tuning device, such as greddy emanage
Wideband o2 sensor w/ logging

turbo:

Ball bearing, extra cost, but worth it
GT35R or similar
Single turbo kit

Ditch the twins asap if you want 400+ and reliability.
