-So driving down the main drag in town, stopped at light, then car dies.
-try to start it up, nothing. give it throttle while trying and it started but is smoking out hood and exhaust. i instantly smell fuel and cut through traffic, turn car off and coast to a side road
-Discover the problem to be over fueling, the reason under the hood was smoking was cause i have an exhaust leak from turbo to elbow and it was pissing on manifold and burning.
-after a bunch of fucking around and checking basic shit, i pull coil packs and spark plugs to determine which cylinder was overfueling.
I pull coil pack plugs and they all made a difference but number 3.
-so i pull number 3 plug out and its soaked in fuel.
-try different plug and different coilpack, doesn't make difference.
- I try a different coilpack clip (from cylinder 4) and it seemed like it made a difference, because when i pulled it off again, the engine stuttered and stuff.
- So this tells me that my number 3 coil harness or clip or something is messed up.
-So i figure i can just pull the clip off the number 3 injector and drive home on 5 cylinders.
But with 5 coilpacks working and 5 injectors plugged in. Its still overfueling like a bitch and with any throttle it bogs down a bit and then power and then bogs down. etc etc.
So now im stumped like crazy.
I have no other ideas as to where to look. car is on side of road so hard to start tearing it apart.
Why is it still overfueling even though i pulled the injector clip? Could it be a different cylinder too?
All the other cylinders are firing cause when i pull clips i can notice a difference, only on 3 it makes no difference.
So i have overfueling problem and coilpack harness problem.
What should the resistance be in the coilpack clip.
All help is appreciated. thanks a bunch
