What one will be easier to put in and wire? What one will be easier to maintain and find parts for? What one would you do if you had the money?

From what I've read, the 2JZ swap will cost at least twice as much as the 1JZ swap. The wiring would be a nightmare, also, but do-able. Better know your electrical!

Yeah, I'm still gonna stick to th 1jz plan i guess.... I just dont like how hard it is to find parts for it. I guess im gonna have to learn how to weld....

Its really not hard to find parts for. Most parts are either 7M or 2JZ parts that you can order from Toyota or your local Auto Zone or parts store. Its knowing what parts are compatible that is the key. But this site and supraforums.com are a great resource that I have used to make sure I have all the right parts.

I'm afraid its gonna pull the usual 7m thing on me I have nothing better to do with my time or money so why not do the swap and learn something new. I like the 1jz, the revs, the power, AND THE BOOST!!!!

I think I understand. If you like the engine, and want something different, this is the route to go.

However, despite what you might read, keep in mind that a 7M with decent torque on a metal head gasket is just as reliable.

The 2J has a decent advantage in that there are a lot more performance parts readily available than there are for either the 7M or the 1J. Wiring is a PITA, and the usual answer is to run standalone from the start.

I planned on going stand alone with the 1jz... But not yet... Im gonna have to get another job for this shit.... If you had the money for stand alone would it make the swap way the hell easier?
