Guys can you give me oil pressure #'s on your healthy 1jz?
My car didn't have a gauge when I got it (it does now) but I need to find out how much restriction I need for my turbo, so I don't blow out the seals (AGAIN). Buy the way I can't search oil.:3d_frown:

Using my stock guage, my car idles at about 40psi and goes anywhere from sixty to eighty while driving.

try "oil" or oil*

do you have a ballbearing turbo? i dont like restrictors otherwise (unless of course you are running huge lines) a -3 line should be fine. what sucks more than turbo seals going out is insufficient oil which will kill a turbo real quick, my friends turbo had a -3 line with a restrictor and at the end of the dyno it had gotten so much shaft play it got stuck in the compressor housing

No, I don't have a bb turbo. I ran a 5/16 hard line and put new fittings on the turbo.
The old fitting I took off had a little hole the size of a pencil lead, I thought I was improving the system.

Anyone; 1jz=20-30psi@idle 50-60@load (5/16 line)=
turbo=2ltr/min.@idle 3ltr/min.@load, 30psi minimun under load= what kind of restrictor?

I get about 60 when cold, after warm up about 27 at idle and after warm up at 2.5K rpms about 45 with penziol platnium 5w30.

I think your pressure has to do with the oil weight you use. Remember what I have gathered from other oil presure threads is that pressure is "resistance to flow". In other words, too much pressure can be similar to not enough pressure, again, just my opinion. You might PM jdub as he is the oil guru and suggested my using 5w-30 penziol platnium over 0w-40 mobil 1 in my 1j.
