I'm in the middle of re-doing the oil pan gasket and i was wondering if anyone has the torque specs for the bottom and upper pan? I also saw there was a greenish material on the bolts when i took them out, i was wondering if that was lock tight or what is it? Any help is appreciated.

Sorry I thought you meant just the bottom. Top ones are 210 kg cm (15 foot pounds) for the 8mm and 400 kg cm (29 foot pounds) for the 10mm. (shaft sizes not head sizes)

never heard about thread sealer at least in the tsrm for the mkiv i will check again i thought the green was just corrossion of some type because it wasnt on all of them. any thread sealant i would assume wouldve been from the silicone lining on the pan

buy new smaller bolts, save time i had to extract 3 because once i torqued them the heads popped off... reused the larger ones though

edit: checked and it just said to clean bolts very well. and now that ive read it im wondering if i replaced the o ring in the block on the pan part.... =/ well i just hope the old one is still in there and good
