This is my third try on my 1jzgte 95 240sx build. I started out with a kit from tech2swap. The swap couldnt be more stragiht forward and user friendly. What I have had a problem has been the 1jzgte motor it self. I have had two engines which with problems. Engine #1 spun a rod bearing, Engine #2 crankwalk. I got both motors from reputable companies. I will be getting my motor this week and start on the build before the warranty expires.

I got an ACT Extreme clutch and pressure plate. I am going to send it back to act to get it check out, and I will be putting a new oil pump on this engine. I will get this flywheel check out also. I am not going through this again.

It's been documented that heavy pressure plates do make the jz motors crankwalk, They hurt the thrust bearings.......

What about the clutch interlock mod? Will that help, since the problem seem the cause is the pressure on the crank at startup with no oil pressure.

should I go with a stock presure plate and my 6 puck clutch? Would that be enough to hold 400 ftlb ?

Yes that would be enough, I had a HPF 6 puck bronze clutch with stock pressure plate & it held over 400ftlb, I had that set-up in my MKIII & remember there heavy compared to the 240sx.

YES!
I've done 4 1jz 240 to date. It's fun as hell and you don't need anything more than a stock PP and 6puck clutch. You can make 445rwtq and laugh to the bank. I am making that on my 3800lbs+ SC300 and no slip at all.

Sorry to bump a 1 month old thread but just got to thank everybody for this great clutch setup info since i'll be going that route in my s13.

But was curious if you guys figured out if you can avoid buying the tech2 crossmember and just "improvise" on the stock s13/14 crossmember. Since rumor has it that you dont have to buy that piece and use stock 87-92 mk3 engine mounts.
