I'm getting a 1JZ for my mk3 and was wondering if it should pass inspection or not and what will need to be done to it if it doesn't? Or if anyone knows what I need to do to it before I get it inspected to make it pass that would be great. Or will I have to get it "inspected"? I'm in Dallas county, Texas if that matters.
Thanks.

I think Dallas and Tarrant counties both have tests very close to California standards (sucks).

If you're in one of the outside counties, they are pretty relaxed and don't do sniffer tests.

As you don't have EGR, more than likely you're fail on NOX.

Is there any way to fool the diognostics computer by temporarily changing or adjusting anything on the engine such as the A/F ratio?

I don't really know what they look, test for during an inspection as my current DD is a 68 Nova and it only requires a safety inspection.

Dallas and Tarrant county tests aren't any harder than any other emmision tests. True, the outside counties don't require emmisions to be tested but you must live in them to get a safety sticker. Yeah, with no EGR you will most likely fail....
