I have the option of picking one of these up cheap....what i need to know is - are they the same as the 2JZ inlet manifold in terms of shape, throttle body, plenum size etc.

I'm hoping they're identical, but if not, no biggie.

TIA

1JZ plenum size is smaller than 2JZ plenum sizes. 1JZ plenums are a rectangular shape, while 2JZ are circle. Throttle bodies are the same size, or atleast very close.

If you're looking to put a 1JZ mani on a 2JZ, don't. If you just one one to hack apart to fit on a 7M or something, go right ahead.

when it comes to the 2j manifold's get the jdm one if you can.the usdm one has the egr tube inside that runs from front to back.you will have a little more plenum volume and probably less turbulance.2j tb is slightly bigger, but has all the ugly mess of traction control hanging off it.

i couldn't tell you which one would be better.i do know that the 2jz lower intake is long like the 7m,but the 1j lower is real short.i'm not sure if it would be easier to mate a lower 7m and lower 2j to help bolt the upper on.

this pic you can kinda see how the lower runner on the 1j is

this pic you can see the 2j lower which looks more like the 7m one
