I just was looking over the 1jz section on ebay, and i found this. I thought it was halarious This company is putting a kit together so you can directly swap in a 1jz into a civic. Fricken funny.

Not possible, short of dumping an obscene amount of money into it.

The engine would have to be adapted to a front wheel drive transmission, and it's probably way too long anyhow.

Plus, honestly, it would be a waste of a good engine.

With enough time, skill and money, anything is possible. My friend Mike is a Honda guru, having done many Honda swaps, plus some imho insane (as in 700hp) street turbo B series. He also loves Supras, so he's trying something pretty ambitious: He's swapping a 2JZ-GTE/6 speed tranny into a 98 Civic hatchback. He has already converted the hatch to rwd, the driveline is all there, and so is the custom rear independent suspension. It's going to have a full interior and roll cage, and is in the process of swapping in the motor. I always tell him he's absolutely insane, and that i think his rwd Civic is just gonna do a backflip when boost and torque hit hard.:icon_bigg I haven't been to his shop in a while, but next time i see him I'll ask him to let me take a few pics to post.

So...whos doing the 1jz swap in the 96 civic? Volunteers?
There was also a guy with an integra who swaped a CRV transmission in it and could run it FWD RWD or AWD. Had a jackson racing supercharger on a gsr motor and made like 300whp. Drifted pretty well from the vid i saw.
