no offense taken, i was lead to believe these motors were virtually indestructable



not in my case, my ecu has new caps and i only use premium gas

Just replacing the caps won't solve the problem 100% You have to be good a cleaning the traces & making sure the acid did not corroded them, Trust me, DSM ecus are worst at blowing caps that the JZA70 ecus, I have a friend here that replaces & fixes ecus for DSM, I am trying to get him to start rebuilding our ECUs, But he needs a running MKIII with the 1jz running good & he asked me for the diagrams for the ecu pinouts, I believe he can do it..
