1JZ-GTE A/C Idle-Up

Just looking to know what the functionality is supposed to be like on the 1JZ-GTE A/C idle-up, the car idles up fine, but it seems like it might be idling up too much. Typical idle speed is about 650rpm on the car, and when the compressor cycles it will jump up to about 1500rpm, and then sometimes settle down near about 1200rpm. It seems excessive to me, haha.

That seems like quite a bit to me as well but I don't think mine is hooked up right. Normal idle for me is 700 and it drops to about 600 w AC on

Drove the car a bit more today, sometimes it settles around 1000rpm, but it still seems quite high every time the compressor kicks in. Odd.

Do both of you still have the IACV? My MicroTech doesn't support IACV Adjustability so I just have a block-off plate.

I'm working with a stock JZA70 TT-R, nothing has been modified related to any of this (other than an R134a conversion).

Did you ever figure this out? My A/C will kick on then my idle will drop so low that the car dies.

^your a/c compressor is not wired up correctly. the signal for the compressor relay needs to go through the ecu so it knows the a/c compressor as been turned on.

That seems high but i would not complain as it would never stop blowing cold lol. sometimes it starts blowing hotter air with lower rpms.

Thanks for the reply HvyMan. So it sounds like I should follow the wiring from the compressor and check to see if it goes to the compressor relay then follow the wiring from the relay to the ECU? Is this how you would go about it?
