isnt the w58 a push type? If you had a high pressure plate then why are you eliminating the clutch from the equation? Wouldnt you still be making pressure on the crank but in the opposite direction? Just wondering - I have never actually worked on a w58.
You are correct, push types will walk a crank just as a pull type will.

4G63 is a push type........

What's stopping me from putting my pistons and oil squirters into a GE? Drill some holes and swap some things. Big whoop.

Btw, what's the weight difference? To me every lb counts so I'd like to know.
My old car weighed just under 2900lb. This fat fuck I have now is 3340lb, which I hate.

Thanks fellas. Keep it coming.

There's nothing stopping you from putting your pistons and oil squirters into the GE block.

Hell, just run pistons, and forget the squirters. Easy.

Weight difference between a 1JZ and 2JZ block, not that much, <100lbs.

Wow 100lbs!?!?? wtf. Btw, I called around and I can't find a GE for less than $1200

Any ideas?
Think about it. The differences in the block are minimal. You have about an inch more height, and most of that is bored out for the cylinders, there's not much more metal there. Then there's the crank and rods, and again, not that much more metal. you have 7mm more throw on the crank, and a cm or so on the rods.

I can't imagine it being more then 100lbs difference between blocks. Turbo setups are a different story though.

I think you are going to have a harder time than you think installing oil squirters. The surface that they mate to has to be machined flat, threaded, and an orientation dowel hole has to be drilled as well.

The whole point of using a GE block is that you can get them for less than 500 bucks and that they are a quick swap for plug and play.

As far as putting your 1j pistons into the GE welll,,,,,,, I really dont know. I dont know about bore, piston deck height, dish volume or if the rings that are already mated to the 2j engine will line up and fit in the 1j piston. If you use new rings you will have to re-hone to get them to seat right.

It sounds to me like you are planning on doing more to the GE block than you need to. If you really want to have that stuff then look around for an aristo 2j block or something and use the pan off of your 1j.

I dont think you are looking in the right places for a 2jz GE block. Did you check on craigslist for a lexus partout? Look for lexus IS300 motors too....
