Im swappin the 1J into my 87, and im not sure which gauges to get....

I'm thinkin "Boost", "Oil Temp", and a Tach!

Also will the MA70 temp gauge work with the 1J???

i have a 1J in my 88

tach water temp all work

oil pressure doesn't but all i need is the adapter and 7M oil pressure sender and its good

you dont need to swap the tach out

Im not doing the front clip... I just bought the motor, tranni, harness, ECU...
What adapter?.... does it make the 1J harness hook up to the MA70 gauges???

But the 7M reds at about 6.5K and the 1J reds at 7.5K... Right???

Does the 1J work off the same temp. as the 7M... I mean it doesn't run hotter or have a different overheating point???

who cares you'll just be red lining according to the 7M tach

if you now it revs to 7500 then shift before then do you really need a red painted surface on yur tach to know when to shift???

if yur on stock twins and stock cams you have no need to rev above 6800 anyways as it makes NO power there


and the temp gauge is the same

Yeah! Direct fit! I would look on ebay, Or look at for sale sections, They pop up very regularly. Ask around with people with clips!

"This adaptor is to use a 7m oil pressure sender on a 1jz block in order for the stock mk3 oil pressure gauge in the dash to work. Many people are running their 1jz mk3 with no oil pressure gauge. This is because the 7m sender will not fit behind the ac pump on the 1jz. We came up with this and use it on our 1jz swaps. Just screw it into the block, screw the 7m oil pressure sender into it. Hook the wire that was for the 1jz oil pressure switch to the 7m sender and you are done."

and the price is 20 bucks

Yeah i didnt really think about the redline of the tach... It would matter at all... Like Reaper said, If i know it reds at 7500, then shift around 6800!

I just need "Boost" then???? I have a two pod piller do dad... What other gauge would come in handy??? NOS maybe??? <J/K:biglaugh:
