1jz Dyno Day!!! 300RWHP/ 298 Ft-lbs

Well, man, i have wanted to dyno my car for so many years! First i had to get a real motor. My NA wouldn't cut it. Here are multiple runs and then videos. It was so much fun. I did about 10 passes.

I was seriously surprised because i don't have the zero torque issue most 1jz guys complain about. 298 is pretty sweet. It would be nice to have 360, but it wasn't the 250 that i have seen on some peoples graphs.

Current Engine Stats:
1jzgte
Stock Twins
12x24x3" intercooler
AVCR running at 15lbs
Blitz Reprogrammed ecu
Full 3" exhaust with china Y-pipe installed
Cat still installed :(
Oil Pressure 90 Lbs at full throttle, 40 at idle
Fuel: 92 octane, oxygenated winter gas

This is a overlap of my stock boost run and 15lbs. about a 30 hp difference.

First run, didnt work right, it was super low.

Second run, same settings, but 30 more hp.

1 Bar run, very last run, i am pretty happy with these numbers.

14.5 PSI run

I am still surprised at the torque figures. Anyone know why they aren't as low as the normal 1jz numbers?

Torque is about right.. stock twins has decent torque

Your numbers are typical.

Most people are joking about the 1J tq thing or just don't know.

Stock twins usually make around the same tq/hp. I did 293/289 @ 13psi.

That much at 15psi?

I was running ~11psi on stock twins and I wasn't that far from your numbers. I would hope turning it up to 15psi would yield better results.

For reference, here are the last 2 dynos I had with 2 setups on a stock 1JZ.

p904587_2.jpg

Blue line, green values for stock twins, 11.68 psi @ 281rwhp/279rwtq

Red line, yellow values for ct26 w/ Driftmotion manifold, 13.96psi (notice the boost creep)@ 292rwhp/252rwtq:dunno:

Torque is almost 1:1 on stock twins at stock boost.

I am guessing the difference is just the different Dynamometers. Yesterday we did a run and it seemed to be a bit lower for him. He had a F150 pickup with the lighting motor swap. he finished it last quarter. He was about 20 hp lower then he thought it would go. I was using a Dynomax dyno, they are suppose to be almost exactly the same as the Dynojet. My friend who ran the dyno has used both and was only within 2hp on the dyno max when compared to the Dynojet.

Well at least you got to finally dyno your car right... Very typical numbers still a lot of fun. J's japan has a T88 1jz 800hp/798tq thought that was kind of interesting.

Just an Option Magazine article no link......

:Edit: my Math was wrong 89kg-m = 643Ft# So 800hp/643ftlb Just so used to the Metric system I realize how crappy non-metric is......

Good numbers. I agreed though with the above at 15psi with a tuned ecu I would expect around 330...

I did 294/309 @ 12psi stock ecu, untuned.

I was expecting 330 also. I have a feeling that the dyno was just a bit off, but i am not sure. I would guess that the torque was right on, but the HP was off just by a bit.

But do remember, i am still running a cat. That does decrease flow. :(

Nice numbers viperkillertt.

Supra70- is your ct-26 stock or upgraded? Thats a lot of boost creep.

Nice numbers man..
Take that cat off and you'll get +15 hp more :icon_bigg
How many flywheel hp are the 300 wheel hp on the 1jz?
I think it has the same hp loss (20%) through the dravetrain...

Nah. If the hp was low, the torque was low too. The hp is just a calculation based off the torque. If you were making 330hp, your torque would be the same +/- ~10.

There's been some abnormal cars though. One car made 371hp/420tq. There was more involved than normal exhaust/downpipe/boost up though.
