did alot of pulls today. i'm going to try to gap the plugs to .020. They are at .025 and not doing any better. I'm running out of ideas. Whenever it cuts out i watch the wideband and it doesn't really go lean or rich when it cuts out. So it seems like an ignition problem or something to me.

Hi, ive been having similar problems like you, i am running an emanage ultimate and ive been trying to get the fuel to get to a solid 11.8-12 afr and no matter how much i add sometimes its good and sometimes its not. what i did notice with the datalog feature is that on some runs above 5krpm my injector input/output reads 0 and it wierd cause my throttle is still above 90% has anyone had this happen to them? i am wondering if my emanage could be messed up or could my ecu be messed up and not giving the correct injector pulse. things that might be in question( i do have a 255 walbro, i also have an afpr set to abt 45psi at 0 vac. and my afr's are around 12.6 ...sometimes i also hear pinging when i have the timing up....any help would be totally appreciated cause i am stuck on the whole tuning thing.

I was having this very same issue, mine was cutting out at around 5 K sometimes if i throtled into it it would hit around 5800 to 6K but no more issues. My 1j is at 18.5 lbs of boost and i just regaped from 31 to 28, now it is great. problem fixed - NGK 4644 .028

hes already changed plugs and is gapped at .025"

have you checked the caps in your ecu

I will have to chk my ecu, I had been reading about symptoms of failing caps and most were all rich conditions associated with the o2 sensor that's why I wanted to see if anyone else had actually 0 injector input at high rpm sometimes. Btw I don't think it's the gap on my plugs because I have tested from 12-14 psi and nothing since the afr's are strange. And if it was ignition dieing out I wild fgure all the xtra fuel I've been adding would show up as rich on the wideband. Thanks for the help and suggestions I'll post once I chk ecu for caps. Hopefully it's that and not the emu

300z, have you checked to make sure everything is grounded correctly? My car idled soo much better once I put some grounding straps on it.
Drive it over to Ben's and let him look at it first hand.

ok today i swapped the coil packs out with a friends that are good and didn't change anything. last thing i can think of would be ecu.

couple other things i noticed is that it only happens after 4500 and only when you wide open. If you go 75% throttle to redline it runs just fine, only wide open.

That's what will happen if you're gap is too low, but it could be running very lean making it to that also. If I was you, I'd take it to Ben since he's willing to help you. He's had some experience with the 1jz and it always helps to get another person's opinion on something. Good luck.

check my thread. i think im getting the exact same problem as you. i have the same mods as well. it just started happeneing after put my 3" exhaust on. i blew a charge pipe the other night and fixed that.. maybe i still have a boost leak? possibly you have one too.

i swapped ecu's with an auto 1jz which i was told are the same but my car would barely idle. Makes me think my ecu could be modded or reflashed when i got it. The swap came with a 3inch downpipe and intake and it looked like it had previously had a piggyback wired in.

I think i might have something though, i noticed that after i put my ecu back in i did a couple pulls and it didn't cut out now till 5500 and thats with the safc at stock settings. I raised the fuel to just 5%, and i used to have it at 10% all the time with no problems and now its cutting out at 5% added. Could a loose wire on my safc be causing all this?
